Project Summary

In the spring of 2021 Wayne and April Anderson lost their house in a wildfire that was ravaging the landscape around Rapid City. Though shattered by their loss, they turned to Rangel Construction to rebuild the house they had come to love so much over the years. The 7,200 sq ft wood-framed new custom home included two bedrooms and a master bedroom, a pet care room, a game room, a theater room, an open loft, a 3-story fireplace, composite decks, natural stone and engineered lap siding, architectural shingles and engineered retaining walls, hardwood floors and custom cabinetry, stone pavers, and artificial turf on the lawn. The greatest design challenges included the floor and roof truss systems, considering the owners’ desire for open loft areas, and the high wind conditions that had to be worked against on the geographically elevated property. Rangel Construction completed the new custom home with its added updates in the Fall of 2022.
