Grinager Residence

Project Summary

The Grinager residence presented challenges in finding a way to make structural items part of the aesthetic, while trying to achieve enough pleasant elements to make the house pop without being too overwhelming or pretentious. The materials used in the scopes performed include steel I-beams for the deck support with IPE decking throughout, Bridger Steel exterior flat steel panels, ¾” pine tongue & groove ceiling throughout the main floor, built-in bunk beds in stained poplar, stained poplar doors, baseboard & windowsills, stained poplar built-in shelving, and custom cabinets. The goal from the interior to the exterior was to design and build a home that settled into nature and its surroundings but was at the same time warm and inviting. Having the elements of the wood floor match the T&G wood ceiling, with the added element of tall windows, helped the house feel like it was part of the outdoors, even when you were just sitting inside. We feel like we achieved our goals, providing a beautiful home to an ecstatic homeowner, while also creating our own piece of art as can be seen throughout the interior and exterior finishes.
