Project Summary
When Stan and Louise Michals purchased a 1920s-era Rapid City home back in 2010, they realized that the building needed some upgrades, but when they decided to remodel the house in 2020, they had difficulty finding a contractor to take on the job. When the couple contacted Rangel Construction in 2023, however, we agreed to price the project and began work on the house in early 2024. As is often the case with older homes, there were many quirky aspects to work around, including asbestos-clad ducting, a 12” crawlspace, seven different wall textures, and two species of hardwood flooring. The new features of the structure include a remodeled bathroom, a newly renovated kitchen, including all-new cabinets and fixtures, and a new bathroom addition to the rear of the house, along with all-new siding and trim on the exterior.
