Project Summary
Peaceful Valley Ranch is located inside the south unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park near Medora, ND, and due to its significance from the open range ranching period of the west, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Work on this historic restoration project for the National Park Service was to include rehabilitation and stabilization of the site’s three historic structures-the Ranch House, Bunkhouse, and Barn-for future park and visitor usage. Work also included upgrades to some of the site’s utility infrastructure. After a national solicitation for bids, Rangel was awarded the job based on best overall value. Care was exercised in the planning and implementation of the work, in order to preserve the historic character of the site, and comported with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings. The project was completed within the timeframe and the budget required by the federal government.
